Outreach
Outreach and science communcation have always been important aspects of my life. I worked as a volunteer at my local planetarium for 3 summers, where I learned to operate the projector and gave hundreds of shows. I have additionally spoken at a number of local astronomy related events in and around the Charlotte area.
In my first year at Duke, I served as the event coordinator for the Stargazing Devils Astronomy Club, where I organized speaker events, observing sessions, and astronomy-related trips for the Duke community. This year, I am the co-president of the club, and we plan to greatly expand its impact on campus and in the community.
Community outreach is a core piece of the Stargazing Devils, and we make an effort to frequently visit schools, libraries, and other institutions to host educational events. This page will likely be updated with details about some of our initiatives over the next year. Please feel free to reach out to me personally if you are interested in what we do or would like to collaborate.
